| THE
INDEPENDENT CENTRE FOR MEDIATED LEARNING offers treatment and certified
training in Feuerstein's Instrumental Enrichment
Programme, which represents a theory-based method of cognitive
educational intervention aiming at the development of the various prerequisites
of thinking and learning. Both Instrumental Enrichment and other training
and treatment techniques available at the ICML are based on the Mediated
Learning approach in cognitive education.
The ICML Clinic treats a wide range of learning difficulties and helps develop thinking and learning abilities, to compliment the educational curriculum. Children and young people who may benefit from the activities of the ICML range from age four years to adulthood and from mainstream education and gifted underachievers to children with conditions as diverse as Dyspraxia, Dyslexia, Attention Deficit Disorder and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Cerebral Palsy, Down's Syndrome, Asberger's Syndrome, Hemiplegia, Global Developmental Delay, Pragmatic Semantic Disorder, Expressive language disorders. They are sometimes described as innumerate, depressed, antisocial, apathetic or school phobic etc. Visiting lecturers and experts from Europe, Israel and the US focus on different aspects of development using a variety of programmes which embrace Feuerstein's fundamental theories. The ICML Consultants are experienced practitioners and trainers in all Feuerstein's methods and theories. |

Professionals from various fields come to the ICML for training because they want to extend their expertise or change direction or, have heard about Cognitive Education and Mediated Learning and want to learn more. Parents come for training to acquire a deeper understanding and knowledge of the cognitive needs of their child. |
| Treatment is provided by the ICML after careful analysis of the individual's needs through the process of Dynamic Assessment. Clients come to the ICML for treatment through a number of sources. They are referred by schools, parents, clinics, psychologists, speech therapists or other professionals. |
